The economics of debris handling change with tract size, and that is why mulching suits this area particularly well. On a small lot, hauling material off is a truck movement or two. On a hundred acres of timber ground, it is a haul distance measured in the length of the property and a disposal cost that scales with volume. Season governs scheduling, since the bottoms are workable in some seasons and not others.
